Specialist Support

Substance Misuse & Addiction, Trauma, Illness, Grief & Bereavement

Many Individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances often from loss and bereavement, illness or abuse. The passing of a loved one can often be a very difficult time. It's important to understand grieving and how hard this can be for individuals and families alike.

Anxiety, fear and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events; grief and bereavement of a loved one can exacerbate substance use to mis-use and addiction, depression, and related food and sleep issues. Helplessness can be just one way of coping with life events. Dealing with terminal illness from diagnosis to recovery, through therapy, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Coaching and support for is also available with loved ones either 121 or in small groups. Open or closed format. Through treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, hope and joy that you once had in your life.

Attachment & Self Esteem Issues, Relationship & Communication

Often our link to someone we love can present as difficult to understand or improve. Whether it be from our early years of our relationships growing up, our current partner self esteem is vital for empowerment and healthy relationships. Learn how to better our own understanding to help ourselves and others close to us.

Relationship exploration can be beneficial to people who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationships. The key to good outcomes is effective communication; learn how with individualised techniques in bespoke 121's or small groups.

How: Walking/Talking Therapy or One-off Longer Sessions

On occasion, the format of therapy can change. Often longer in time (ie 2 hours or more) the walking & talking approach can be helpful. It's a known method of being able to concentrate on our surroundings in nature to help the unconscious, become conscious. We offer bespoke sessions for couples or or small groups or 1-2-1 with walking. Bring water and comfortable shoes - we'll do the rest. This can also be closer to your home if you prefer.

Longer workshop style sessions with coaching and counselling can also be useful for some to delve at depth into a subject; often goal focused but not always with follow-up and/or homework if required.

Background

Additional Information

I'm a 15 years BACP Accredited counsellor/psychotherapist and have worked in and around the mental health and addiction fields for over 25 years. In this time in I have progressed from my Gestalt Psychotherapy beginnings to a Systemic Family Therapist and incorporated and assimilated many other disciplines such as Brief Solution Focused, Transaction Analysis, CBT and many others to define my bespoke therapeutic approach.

I have been running my private practice for both therapy clients and clinical supervision throughout this time, whilst also working for the Prison Service-RAPT, Addaction, & Inclusion (NHS) and others. More recently I have been managing a team of 15 counsellors and been the Family Lead for the county of Cambridgeshire Substance Misuse Services in the UK.  I have a passion for understanding the dynamics created between us, attachment issues and the repairing of the bonds with our loved ones.

Many of the Associates I work with also have this shared background and are equally as passionate about helping others to recovery, and to help families heal from difficult dynamics.

Through Covid 19 times and to date, residing in France working face to face, and online in both France and the UK offering therapeutic support to Cancer Support France, Languedoc and in private practice.
